Pollution Of Sulfur :
Sulfur dioxide is very harmful gas. It has no color and has pungent, suffocating odor. This gas is hazardous and very toxic to bacteria and fungi .Sulfur element irritates eye , eyelids , nose, lungs .It causes chronic asthma, bronchitis and many others COPD’s. This sulfur dioxide is one of the major precursors of acid rain. It makes the soils, akes, rivers acidic and causes harm to aquatic life. Acid rain seriously effects the ecosystem. Sulfur pollution is caused of burning fossil fuels , petroleum refining, industrial boiling, power plant waste due to burning of coal and oil.
Pollution Of Nitrogen :
Nitrogen oxide is a colorless , odorless and tasteless gas and its non-toxic. It is highly reactant thus rapidly oxidized into nitrogen dioxide in presence if oxygen in the air. The dioxide form is of reddish-brown having pungent and irritating odor. The derivatives of nitrogen oxides termed as NOx causes (smog) ground-level ozone by reacting with volatile organic compounds in presence of sunlight and heat. This ozone can seriously damage lung tissue and various other human tissues and causes chest pain, coughing, shortness of breath and lung irritation. Nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide plays the main role in acid rain. They together form many other acids in the air by reacting to various elements in the environment .It is a greenhouse gas. It accelerates the rate of global warming process.
High levels of nitrogen in water can cause the imbalance in nutrients which is used by the aquatic plants and animals. Excessive nitrogen can give growth to many toxic bacteria which are harmful for aquatic life. High concentration of nitrogen causes eutrophication which ultimately leads to oxygen depletion and causes death to fishes.
Pollution Of Carbon Monoxide :
Carbon monoxide is a highly toxic gas. It hinders the ability of blood to provide oxygen in the
Whole body. The protein hemoglobin which works like the transporter or carrier of oxygen, is
blocked by carbon monoxide thus causes oxygen deficiency in blood flow and can be deadly to human beings and other animals. This gas does not cause any physical harm like itching or irritation in eyes, nose and does not cause damage or, destructed to lungs.
As the blood cannot provide oxygen through blood stream , tissues or cell of the vital organs like brain, lungs and heart get damaged and there is a failure in their function.
Being exposed/unprotected to carbon monoxide can cause :
1.Heart failure
2.Brain damage
3.Heart cell damage
4.Fainting,unconsciousness,convulsion
5.Sudden death
This carbon monoxide is called silent killer or slow poison, As its not detectable and cannot
be felt because of its slow poisoning, odorless and colorless characteristics.
Pollution Of Ozone :
Harmful effects of different pollution . Ozone is a highly reactive gas. It reacts radically. It contains 3 atoms of oxygen. Ozone can be of man-made also due to various pollution though its a natural gas.
Ozone can cause many problems to human health including chest pain, lung damage, throat irritation, deterioration of bronchitis, emphysema, acute asthma and etc. High and repetitive exposure to ozone can cause scar in lung tissue. Harmful effects of different pollution the ground-level ozone is the public concern. The ground-level ozone is harmful directly to the human. Those who are active in work and go outside frequently in a day are at risk due to frequent exposure to ozone.
