Noise pollution, the another name for noise is sound. Sound is every where. We humans have five senses. To sense or receive the information of surroundings situation and places and etc. In order to feel the food we haven the sense of taste which we get through our tongue, to perceive the visual world and etc we need eyes and sense of light, to smell something we have the sense of smelling to feel the texture of any physical thing we have the sense of touch through our skin, and to hear something or to someone, we have the sense of noise or sound.
In environment we humans mostly use two senses to perceive the basic and a minimal or more than minimal information of the environment. And those two senses are Sight and Hearing. Thus we use and contact by sending and receiving through these two sense and so there is lots of noise in our environment.
To say it is a noise pollution or sound pollution, there is a scale or metering system. The sound or noise level needs to reach a hazardous level.
Normal noise or sound is not discomforting to us. And the sources are human voices, radio, television, music hearing and etc. But if either of these reaches to a hazardous level then that might also be called as noise pollution or sound pollution. Which is normally a rare case.
The source or reason of noise pollution is many-
1. Industrial(factory) Sources.
2. Machines creating noise (agricultural machines, road constructing machines, building drilling machines etc.
3.Transport vehicle sources.
4.Miscellaneous(Concert, Human overcrowd noise, Music etc.
5.Various equipment which are used in various other productive purposes and create noises.
Sound or noise level is measure in Decibels(db). And sounds above 85db is hazardous to humans.
Noise pollution effects can be discussed into two ways-
One is in terms of physical or mental effects and another is by the db levels of sound causing the effects. Here we will discuss the both.
The physiological/physical effects of hazardous noise level are several and given below:
1.Prolonged exposure to high (db) level of sound is permanent hear impairment or loss.
2.Severe Headache.
3.Ischemic heart disease.
4.Low noise sensitivity(hearing problem)
5.Nervous system breakdown etc
The psychological/mental effects of hazardous noise level are several and given below:
1.Depression.
2.Fatigue.
3.Insomnia.
4.Panic attack(seizure disorder).
5.Irritation
7.Psychological imbalances etc.
In term of db levels and its effect on human body can be described with the level and its effect like given below:
