Physical and psychological addiction is an urge to do something or to have something. It’s a kind of dependency also. The intense desire or urge induced by addiction can be either substantial or operational.
Substantial addiction :
Addiction in which the addiction is on a substance. Substances like drinks (alcohol, whiskey and other liquors) and addictive drugs like narcotics , sleeping pills and substances like marijuana , cocaine , nicotine etc.
Operational addiction:
Refers to the addiction in which the addiction causes a person to do something which gives pleasure to him. It can be gambling, sex and various other things that gives the person pleasure and meets his need or urge.
Physical addiction:
The dependency on a substance or drug without which our body cannot function in many aspects of it.Our brain depends and give output for any work or any action according to the signal that hormones or neurotransmitters provide. And any kind of substance that is addictive and taken for addictive purposes, obviously changes our hormonal and neurotransmitter balance. So, when our body adapts with the change of those chemicals that controls our brain and thus the output for action, after a certain time our body and brain only functions properly in many sectors, if the hormones and neurotransmitters are present in that amount which occurs of those addictive substances, and eventually our body and brain gets dependent on that substances for its proper function. The need of those chemicals are new in amount which is artificially a normal level.
Psychological addiction:
This addiction makes some one feel that he is nothing without fulfilling that desire or having another dose of that drug and etc.
This psychological addiction is daring addiction and not a normal state of addiction.Psychological addiction urges more and drives the addict more for his addiction. At a point the person might think that, that feeling is the core of his life. He must feel all those for well-being and all. And will obtain and do anything to obtain that feeling by any mean. And that engraves in his mind that he cannot live without that thing.
